Mobile phone marketing

Why can't a mobile phone developer come up with a phone that encompass ALL the up to date, state-of-the-art technologies? Some phones come with large storage capacity, music player but no 3G tech.. Some with 3G tech, music player, but poor camera. Why? why not place everything together and name it the ultimate phone of the quarter.

I really hate making comparisons only to find that my stuff lacks this, lacks that.
www.cnetasia.com provides great reviews on the latest gadgets.

Idealism has proven its non-existence again. Sigh.

Exam woes

Yesterday was a shocking and surprising day. My exam timetable is out. Exams begining 2nd week of May. Around 1 more month to go. How I wish time will move slower, like 48 hours a day.. I thought exam should fall in June.. But was shocked to find out that it begins 1 month earlier.. meaning lesser time to prepare.. Have to mug for hours already, no slacking, no games, no music.. the best place : LIBRARY. Yeah so i set my mind into studying in school library. I believe the amount of people in the library this few weeks will give me some morale support and determination.

After going through today's revision lecture, I find that having overseas lecturer (Especially from University of London itself) is far more enriching. They aren't that monotonous and boring as local lecturers tend to be.. Perhaps it's due to that they are the chief examiners themselves. They set the question, the standard, and they mark our scripts.

After going through numerous bad encounters and experiences last and this month, I realised something rather important. People tend to get angry or sad when they face problems. I too gone through this cycle of emotion. Whenever you are angry at your problem, you will not be able to think rationally. All you can think about is 'why the hell it happened to me','how i wish it never happened'. Solutions will never come to you when you are angry or sad, because you will just lament away on your life. Realising this, I tried to face the problem with a joyful mood. Don't think of the problem, as it has already taken place and happened right before you, and it's not a dream, as i always wonder whether is it or not. Being in a healthy state of mind will greatly aid you in solving your problems. Even if you cannot seek a solution to the problem, and decided to let it go, at least your mind will be at ease. Don't fret on the problem anymore cos it doesn't help a bit, it'll make you even more tired and restless.

I'm going through the worst days of my life in Singapore right now. Look on the brightside, at least I still have a place to live and attend my classes as per normal.

Cheers!

Sold my game!

So happie today! earned 90 bucks from selling my Maple Story account. This game is super lame but addictive. Dunno why.. I don't recommend anyone to play it cos it's hard to level at higher levels.. It's boring yet addictive.. That is something amazing bout this game.

The best part is, if u r a fast player, like u can get to lv 50 in 1 month, u can sell your character for some cash to compensate ur wasted precious time.. There's always a demand for it..

Prelims

I was actually late for econs exam today. Bus 75 broke down juz 1 stop before mine. Heck, have to wait for another 15 minutes. Eventually I was late by 5 minutes. But all ended well, I managed to finish the paper.

Yesterday spoke to my pbf friend, and guess what he told me. "I think of quitting school.." What!! quitting? I first thought he had some problems. But no. He told me he earned $25000 in 2 months in shares (derivitives market to be exact). Like so easy to earn.. However he has been trading for around 3 years. Of course there's bound to be losses. But he netted a clean profit of 25k. Later on he told me that it was just a thought, so not really going to quit school, just a sudden thought. U noe, u start making plans with the 25k, how to spread it out over the nx few months, what to invest in, stuff like that makes u lose interest in studying. Some may think that what's the point in studying when i can sit down at home and make a few grands? Well, I always believe that money doesn't come to you easily, especially at this point in time.

I'm very happy with the life I'm leading right now, and I have some to share it with. I'm working part time now, so does Alvin. Somehow there is this feeling that is so gratifying and rewarding. It doesn't matter what job you are taking, as long as you earn an income legally, I think it's an achievement. You pay your own bills, your own food, your own stuffs. I guess it's pretty important for everyone to experience this as it teaches you how to manage your money well in order to sustain yourself. I stopped getting allowance from my parents or my uncle. Of course, my school fees are still 'subsidised' by my parents as the mere sum i earned will never be able to cover the cost of my studies. However, being able to see yourself through day by day on your own cash is nevertheless one of the most rewarding moment in your life.

N70

5days old = 5 days of fun experiments with my toy. I'm referring to my wonderful, elegant N70 . Spent 10 days working to buy this phone lehzz. So proud of myself haha.... This candy bar here boasts superb multimedia capabilities - real player to play your movies or video streaming, music player to fulfil your craving for music, and a 2 megapixel cam . It's Cnet's editor choice k?

Furthermore, it supports word, excel and powerpoint docs - for viewing purposes - and an adobe acrobat reader. It certainly comes in handy for people like me who can't sit around and start reading stuffs. Read some journals while on the bus whilst listening to music -

Smartphones are just simply great and amazing. Due to its symbian OS, open source programs come in abundance. And so my 1st lookout is for an even greater music player. Came across OGGPlay. This software here is a must get program for smartphones. It plays .ogg extension files. Basically, .ogg files are similar to .mp3 or .aac or .wma codecs. The advantage is that you can compress it to around 60kilobits per sec and still derive the same quality equivalent to a 128 kbps mp3 file. Along with a 512 mb dual voltage RS-MMC, you'll get around 350 songs. Compare that to a conventional mp3 player.. Sound quality is good due to the lack of an equalizer.

3G is just so entertaining. Loads of free video streaming contents, and you can even catch channelnewsasia live on ur litte gadget. Now I'm waiting for someone to video call me :D

I just noticed that there's actually mobile blogging haha. Still looking for a free service.. hopefully the type where i can upload pics instantly from my phone, thus avoiding the hassle to make transfers to pc and then from pc to my blog.

My phone actually has symantec security to fend of mobile viruses. firewall for a phone, sounds so funny. but still protection is better than gettin infected (wonder does warranty covers it?)

I actually had a bluetooth headset years ago. Left it somewhere in the house, until yesterday i remembered and went looking high and low for it, but to no avail.

ditched my mp3 player for my chio N70. felt no remorse bout it muahahaha.,.,, cos it found a new owner...

21!

Another hour and I'm officially 21. So old dy, and I have not enjoyed life's greatest moment. Hopefully destiny will lead me to 'the one'.
I had been working for the past 2 weeks, 9 hours a day, which pays me 45 bucks per day. Job's simple but tiring. Oh well, the money's good and I'm looking forward to this weekend. N70 will be my new asset. Probably I might change my number again.. Sorry for troubling you guys to spend a few minutes to update your phonebook.
Best friend just called me and talked for 20 mins. Working 3 jobs around the clock is not a wise idea my friend. Accidents may happen when you're sleepy. So be alert, or rather go slow on the road man. Don't want anything to happen to you.
Maybe we should try out Ministry of Sound, apart from lobsters, crabs and pubs.

I'll be looking forward to June brother.

Bday present

I'm getting a birthday present! for myself. Sometimes I just simply hate the currency exchange. 570 ringgit will get you alot of stuff in Malaysia, but after conversion, I end up with only 250 sing dollars. What can I get myself? Initially I was considering bowling equipments. But on second thought, hey training will resume like, after June?? So, I guess I can wait till June then I'll get them instead.

As I flipped through Saturday's paper, I noticed handphones are going really cheap! Furthermore I need to sign up for a new line cos seriously prepaid card sucks. You end up paying more. There's this Valentine's Day promotion where you purchase a phone and get another free. The catch is both phones need to be signed up. Singtel's offering Motorolla V3i for ard 598 (1 for 1). Maybe I can sign up for a line, and get my uncle to recontract his :)

Then there is this motorolla L7, the slim candy bar model. The design is just simply fantastic. Comes with an expansion slot and mp3 player. However, the cons are it comes with a super lousy vga cam and no fm radio. Of course, the budget I have now can only purchase this phone. It's priced at 298, but i can trade in my K300 for 100 bucks.

Just hours ago, my unc called me up and asked me if I wish to help out at his eatery. Well, a job + salary, why not? Besides. I'm free on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and part time jobs are not easily available to foreign students. Hopefully I can earn another extra 200 bucks before my birthday so that I can own a V3i or N70.

Looking forward to my job tomorrow.
